Do i need a better alternator if my bettery goes dead really fast. whenver i work on the interior of my car and my doors stay open for like 5 minutes the bettery will be deal. its a brand new battery and everything. and also should i get a better alternator if im upgrading my sound system by quite a bit anyways???? what is the amps on the stock alternator for a 99 firebird v6??

It could be both, take both to Auto zone and get them tested.
