  • question for all

    Hey all,
I have a quick question about wiring my new sub. I’m not sure if I have this right and don’t want to risk it. I have an Alpine type R 10” sub. It’s the SWR-1042D. I’ll be powering it with a MONO Alpine amp. The amp I’ll be powering it with is the MRP-M200. Now my question is, do I want to wire it up for 2 ohm or 4 ohm? It’s going to be 1 channel mono amp powering a single 10” Alpine sub in a stealth box. The sub is a dual voice coil

    Thanks all
    Brian

    Re: question for all

You will want to wire the dual voice coils on your sub in "Parallel." Wire all the (+)'s on the sub to the (+) on the amp...then all the (-)'s on the sub to the (-) on the amp. This will create a 2-OHM load. Heres a diagram:

      Nda is correct.

P.S. Your choices are 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Not 2 or 4. Just FYI.:p
