I have a 98 Camaro, and it seems when I pick up speed the radio turns itself up. Do 98's come with an automatic turner upper? Or am I just going crazy?

        Re: Auto Volume

Thats a wannabe auto volume control General Motors did in about every vehicle starting in 98 I think might have been as early as 96'ish also I don't remember for sure. All the way down is off, and all the way up in maximum, think of it as a sensitivity control for the auto volume increaser.

What do you mean by "wannabe"? It works fine in my car.

I just mean its wannabe in comparrison to high end ones, that use a seperate mic, and such as some of kenwoods high line models have an option for. Or at least did have an option for, they worked much smoother in about all situations.

ah, i see. I havent had any experience with any others but my own so i wasnt sure.

Personally i love the feature, i hate having my music loud at a red light, cause i know it annoys me when other people do it, but when the windows are down, you need the stereo louder when your driving, and i never have to touch the volume :D

Ya lol, I understand that, personally I don't use it, well I never keep a factory radio. Never had a problem with it either, so by all means I'm not trying to say its a failure at a try by Delco.

haha trust me I don't like to keep the factory radios either... but almost everything on my car is covered by my used warranty for the next 3 years. (i bought the car from chevy as a "certified used car"). Anyways, i just always make sure that the things i change are going to be things that i would replace aftermarket anyways if something went wrong

Strange, I never noticed this feature on my Monsoon system in the Pontiac. But both my dad's Chevy trucks have had it, and its noticible there. It's a nice feature especially for those of us with loud exhaust, wish I could work it into my Alpine HU.

My volume goes blaring sometimes when I turn the volume lower. I have to turn the knob very slowly to get it to turn down. Anyone had this problem? Thanks.

It's a 97 Firebird but not built much better than the Yugo.
