best radar detector?

well i got my first speeding ticket on sunday so i figure its time to invest in radar, what detectors do you guys use? do they work good? how much and where did you get it?

I heard alot about the escort that it was good. Me I got a whistler at auto zone for $120 and that this goes off when a cop is using his radar. I love mine .

i've got the phantom II ..it was pricey from what i remember..but it detects 360 degrees around and jams 180 degrees in front..also has the usual settings such as city, mute, volume, etc..saved my @ss a dozen times..picks up cops way before i even see them..they will also pay any speeding ticket you get for one year that is 15 mph or less over the limit

my valentine 1 is amazing, i owned a cobra and passport 8500 before it, the cobra was absolute crap, and the 8500 was pretty good. i would never get rid of the V1... nothin beats the arrows <^>v

What is your price range?

Valentine One is great for $400 price range.. but there are better at higher prices... you get what you pay for.

Valentine One will basically detect anything, just as much as the $1000 ones, but the $1000 ones have little features, like being able to make it stealth/hidden, laser jammers, etc....

if i use a radar jammer is that illegal if i get caught with it? will the cop know that i am using a jammer if i go by him?

A. Passive jammers comply with all FCC regulations. They are reflective receivers that leak no radio energy into the atmosphere. Passive jammers are legal in all states except OK. MN. VA. CA. NE. and Washington, DC

Q. Are "Active Laser jammers" legal?

A. Active Laser Jammers are completely legal since the Food and Drug Administration governs the laser speed measurement devices, and not the FCC. Also be aware that VA, Wash. DC bans the use of radar detectors. MN, VA, UT, OK, NB, CA bans the use of radar and laser jammers.

ALL RADAR JAMMERS ARE ILLEGAL, the only things legal are laser jammers.... keep that in mind. And in my area, almost all cops use radar, and not laser.






Depending on the radar jammer, but he probably won't know you have one. I'm getting the Bel Pro RX75 Plus, http://www.buyradardetectors.com/pro...RX75-Plus.aspx, you can find it on ebay for aroudn $600, and most people will install it for under $200.
