I noticed the lack of bump, so i took my sub out of the stealth box and there was smoke everywhere... what couldve caused this? Its like a year and a half old...
I've got a W3 pretty available to me would that work well in my stealthbox or is the airspace too little?

I have seen plenty of JL audio stuff burn up i watched an W7 catch on fire with only 1000 watts rms on it. I have seen a couple of W6's just lock up.It was what everyone around here wanted for a while but now for sound quailty and bass most are going to alpine.
Have you looked at the specs on the W0??? There is NO way that sub will hold that power! Not even clean power. I have 10W0 and run a PPI A200 to it. Works just fine with clean power.

No. And using the gains as some might thing, will not do that. It's just changing the input voltage. Either get some high power subs, or a lower power amp. The W7 line is suppose to be great..

Yes, the gain knob WILL regulate the output wattage of your amp. As long as the gain is set to a HIGHER voltage then the actual voltage on your RCAs, your amp will output less power. The real question is, where do you set the gain knob to output the right amount of power for your W3? Well, that's tough because it depends on the preamp voltage you're feeding the amp and the voltage range of the amp. Add the fact that the crappy markings on the gain are usually quite inaccurate and you've really got your hands full. Tell us what model number amp and headunit you're using and we can help further.
