  • 6.5" speaker question

    I am looking to upgrade my sorry-a$$ bose speakers and upgrade to some quality sound. The question is: What is a decent brand out there for 2 door and 2 rear seat speakers?

    I've searched here and found that FOCAL was recommended, but they are WAY out of my price range!! I really don't want to spend more than $50 per speaker...if possible.

    My setup is Sony HU CDX-F7710 as seen HERE, 4 bose speakers with Monster Cable Speaker Wire, and a Sony Xplod 300w 4 channel amp XM-754HX as seen HERE going to all 4 bose speakers. I've had the amp in my car for about 5 years now, and I'm really not looking to impress the neighbors with bass vibes. I just want nice sound with decent bass.

      I have to ED's, AWESOME sounding, I mocked them up and they sound great, right now I'm in the middle of dremeling out some of the lip behind the subs (if you've taken out your subs you know what I mean) so they will mount flush.

        1 word... INFINITY got them in mine i think my total for both sets was just over 200 bucks, one thing about them though they wont bolt up right in the rear cuz our stock ones are weird so i only used 2 screws but that seems to work great and they sound AWSOME:banana:

            The infinity kappa are two (2) ohm and that is why they are the best choice for the door speakers with Monsoon. Spend the money. Hell
            a tank of gas is $60 and its gone in a week! The speakers will be around for years.............I mean, if you were buying a stereo system for the home or a home theater system would you go into circuit city and say
            you want "I want to buy a nice stereo system but I don't want to spend more than $25 for each speaker!" My home theater system costs $3900
            (speakers) yet I actually spend more time listening in the car.

                Whats your RMS per channel on the amp?

                I love my Audiobauns, 2 in the doors, 2 in back seat, they are AS650Q 6.5" 3 ways for $49.00 a pair, run off a 4 channel A6004V amp & a 1 channel A8000V Mono for my 2 12" Audiobaun subs.
                Some people say this is crap stuff, but hey, I got it all new for under $500, and never had a problem with them.

                  I don't even know what RMS means Nor, where to find it either.

                    RMS=root mean square.
                    it means continuous power in watts as opposed to the ability
                    to reach a watt output for a micro-second...used to be known
                    as peak power...a phony rating for power.
