Have a Alpine cda-9815 I got from a friend that was acting up in his truck after 2 years of use so I sent it off to united radio, they sent it back saying they re-soldered the power supply and said it should be ok.
I hooked it up in the bird and did all the settings, ran the power lead right to the battery just like Alpine directs you to (not powered through harness). Required due to high output 60watts/4. And the problem is it randomly turns off and then on again Car running or key back makes no difference. Also tried it powered up on the workbench to a battery and will do it there too.
Its the same thing it did in my buddies truck!
I checked power I have 12 volt + everywhere I checked and watched the (red) ignition wire when it would turn off, it stayed hot but radio still shut down.
Called United Radio and they are sending me a prepaid shipping label to send it back to take another look at it.
Anyone have a similar problem with there Alpine??
