i just helped my buddy get his lights wired back up to his switches in his 97 rs, cause he got them ripped out by cops looking for narcotics.. anyways, they ripped the whole light switch assembly out, and all the wires ripped out. we hooked them all up, but now the dome light stays on, even wen u turn the dimmer up and down. the only time it doesnt stay on is when the dimmer is all the way down, or off. anybody have any ideas??

Not quite sure, could be a bad switch... just take the bulb out and have no dome light... probably cheaper than replacing the switch, or fixing the problem...
did they find drugs?

yeah, some coke i guess.. i never even knew he was into it! i guess he jus used to deal.. whatever. yeah, and the cops just ripped it out, instead of goin easy on it, and my friend wanted them to pay for it to get it fixed, but they say it was his fault, cuz he had the drugs or whatever.. anyways, thats probably what ill do, just take out the light.. thanks for the advice!Comment

Sounds like you just have a 12V wire crossed in there instead. Recheck and rewire.
