Well I was at work last night and we decided to play with the db gauge there. I had all my doors open and still managed to hit 124 on the meter

Re: 124 db
Its a start. And you know it may sound funny, but most everyone actually gets higher numbers with doors/windows open.
I did 145.2 with my old setup of 3 10" in a sealed box (.75cubes each). STILL haven't had my current setup metered. My local shop refuses to "make an appointment" for it, so they put me on a kinda standby list. I've driven down there twice, just to stand around and then leave....:( Judging from my experience.... I think its around the 149-150 mark... see sig.

Re: 124 db
I got two memphis subs but not sure what kind and a 1000 watt amp at one ohm. could have gotten more but one of the subs sounds like its about to blow soon so I didn't want to turn it up too much. I had the volume at 35 out of 50 and had the bass all the way down. I figured my system did pretty good and I never would have gotten that much before I got my subthump box.

My current setup.
Deck-
Apline CDA-7995
EQ-
Audiocontrol DQXS 6 channel Eq/DSP
Speakers-
Focal 165V2 front and rear
4x MB Quart RWE254 -Reference 10" subs
Comming next spring, its all comming out in favor of extra space for fuel cell, and other gauges where the radio currently is. Total race mode.
Amps-
Phoenix Gold Xenon 100.4 100x4 RMS 4ohm
Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200.1 1200 RMS 1-4ohm
I run my stuff pretty quiet 90% of the time. I got out of the massive spl days, so I went with SQ equipment. Massive power just to help keep it clean, but when some stupid kid says I just can't get bass out of my subs, I give it a little push with a Bass Meckanic Cd. Don't know what I hit, but it made my friend throw up while he tried to drink a shake today :)1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate

And even if you weren't, what's wrong with the amps you have now? I don't think the SQ quality difference would be worth the money. I mean, I could direct you to some nice high end SQ amps..... but they're not cheap by any means....and you also have the polyglass Focal line. Know what I mean?
If I was going to go all out SQ on my stuff and didn't care about what I spent I would have bought McInstosh. I have my '95 3.4 which is going race, I want something a little less for my '01 Firehawk, and I have to get something built for my winter car, and this year will be the last year of my '95 being that.
More or less curious because I havn't seen them yet anywhere and actually heard them. And being I run an audio/video company, I like to know alot about lines I havn't had yet. I am re-working a friends system fairly soon here, and that name keeps popping up in my head, and I'm always a little worried about new equipment.
Just like that other newer company Niche Audio, cant find a whole lot on them.
For the Hawk I think I'm going to buy new Focal's "Utopia this time" and Morel "Supremo" tweeters, and then run Focal subs also "Utopia", change my deck but to what I am still unsure of. Amps either Zapco or Audison I think for myself anyways. I change my stuff out every year or two generally. Maybe if I would stop doing that I could get myself into a McIntosh deck, amps, and components one of these days.Last edited by Nikos95; 08-21-2006, 02:18 PM.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate

Re: 124 db
K, you didn't mention anything about another car....:)
I sure can't put Autotek against any of those names.... the price should tell you that. lol :p I recommend you give the Utopia components a test drive before you purchase.... I honest to god... liked the Kevlar series better. Think it was the tweeter I wasn't fond of. But since you're using Supremo's.... no worries there.:)
Another company you might want to look at for amps, TRU. Great stuff.

Re: 124 db
I'll drop that name into my mind here. As far as amps go, I was more so looking at something else I can sell to customers and recomend a bit more, after a bit of personal expierience. But sounds like I can more than do that now. Thanks.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate
