when i was trying to get my pioneer to reconize my aux port not olny did i have to have somthing hooked up to it but also whaterever was hooked up to the aux port (i.e dvd player) had to be turned on. kinda like you cant select cd without a cd in it, i dont know if your stereo powers your mp3 player or not but if not try turning the unit on then see if you can get aux to come up in the sorce menu

yeah, i had the mp3 player on and playing music while i was trying to get it to recognize it..I don't see why they make it so complicated to get to the aux inputs...

Sorry bro, but everything I can think of has been touched on in this thread already. I suggest pouring through the instruction manual. It's gotta be in there somewhere. If you still can't find it, take it to a Sony authorized repair shop and ask them. I would hope that they know....

i don't actually have the instruction manual, but i went through the entirety of that online manual Heartbeat_of_94 linked me up with, and i didn't see any clear instructions on making it work, it kind of ignored that part of the HU.
