i went into circuit city the other day and the sales guy told me that the kicker L5's AND L7's would break my abck windsheild because the way they would sit...he also said if i was to get 2 of those i would probably have to get a plexiglas back window, sound weird? if it would break thw dinow i would hold off on the plexiglas and just go with 2 12 in cvr's, if it wont then i will probably go with 2 12 L5's

Re: broken back windsheild??? ever heard of this?
they wont break your window, period.
No, you dont need a plexiglass window, period.
I have seen much much bigger systems in all types of cars..
If you put two l5's or l7's in your hatch, the only problematic thing i can see would be the latch..
I have seen trunk latches break, from all the vibration with extreme set ups.
The way i see it, nothing best buy or circuit shi!tty sells is broken glass worthy.*Matt

Re: broken back windsheild??? ever heard of this?
I was competing with my setup.. pushing mid 140's and best 148.3dB.. i havent broken my trunk latch.
My buddy had 2 15" in his cavalier, he broke his latch..
I wouldnt worry about it too much, but probably an easy fix.
The box... depending on what you listen to, l5's sound pretty good in vented box's.. they are loud and beat hard.
I personally prefer sealed box's over anything.. just my style.
Not a fan of ported box's.. although a port can make a 9dB difference.
A friend of mine has 1 12" L5 in a vented box in his camaro.. it's pretty insane, it's probably not neccesary to get two subs..*Matt

Re: broken back windsheild??? ever heard of this?
Where would a bass junkie get information on how to port his own box?
I know porting a box is very technical cause its easy to not do it right. I'm always turning it up loud.
I'm always turning my bass up and my bass boost (worthless) up so I can hear enough bass. I just need a better amp I think.
I dont care about the sound quality, I would rather hear some bass over everything
It sux not getting to listen to rock because rock doesnt have any bass like hip hop does.Last edited by slow6; 08-31-2006, 05:25 AM.2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC!
