My '96 still has the factory head unit. Over the past couple months when I put a CD in the player, the display reads "ERR" and spits the CD out. This has started to increase in frequency with both burned and regular factory CDs. It now takes multiple tries to get a CD to work.
The CD player has seen heavy use for almost 11 years. I'm guessing I killed it and my only option is a new one.
Anybody else have a similar experience?

I suggest you forget a new CD player and add an iPod and plug it in the back using an adapter. The iPod means you do not have to store CD's and you can select from a much larger selection of
music all for about $150.

An Ipod setup has definitely crossed my mind. I'm just not stereo savy enough to hook it all up myself.

I have a 2000 and it took me 5 minutes to connect the adapter I bought to the back of the Moonsoon AM/FM cassette unit where the input for the remote CD player would go had I bought one for the Camaro. You attach a cable and then using velcro, I attach the ipod to the center of the dash and plug in the cable. I have the recharger in the garage and unplug the iPod and charge it at night. Even George W. Bush could do it.....I think...well .....maybe not.......but U can.
