So i stopped being lazy and built myself a box, and put my sub in my car, the sub is a 15" Re Sx 15" dual 4 ohm, amp is an alpine 1000 watt amp. It is pretty damn loud, but i wish i could port it, i miss the sound of a good ported box. well onto the pics

 i didn't know anybody on here was running re... once again
why not move the amp to the rear deck and then port the box?

Hey man ever since i got re i won't run anything else. I am thinking about porting the box, so that i can get that ported sound back. I was just worried about cubic feet, but it's about 3 cubic feet sealed.

It is pretty close, but totally doable. Got any measurements in mind? Maybe 10"x3.5"x37-39"??? You could easily use 1/2" MDF instead of 3/4" for the vent. Give ya a LITTLE extra room.:)

Hey man i may sound like a dumb ***, but for that dimension you have listed, 10*3.5*37, would that be port dimensions, and if so how would i make the port 37" long, just wondering, because i really want to port the thing but i wanna make sure it's gonna be alright with the room provided.

slot port, the distance into the back of the box and around the end of the L-baffle would be 37.

^^^^ Correct. Make sure you're measuring on the inside of the vent. (ie not measuring the thickness of the wood into your 3.5"x10" opening) Also, for length, measure down the center of the port. Sounds obvious, but once you put a bend in there it's a little different ballgame. :)

Hey is there anyway that i can use a cylindrical type port instead of building a whole new box. Just wondering, i will proballys till build a new box but not for a while. Well thanks in a advance, oh and if anyone knows how to post a video on here, let me know i got a video of the sub in action.

Yes, the rectangle shaped port just makes better use of space. By the same note, its usually tough to get PVC pipe in larger diameters. What the largest you can find locally? 4"? If so, it would take TWO 4" ports each 30" long to achieve a 30Hz tune. Well that in order to keep port noise to a minimum. If you could find a 5" diameter, you could probably get away with a single port only 24" long. Lemme know if you can find any other sizes.

Where in Michigan do you live? I live in Sterling Heights..in Macomb county, about 20 minutes north of Detroit.

Yeah, this weather sucks...getting cold, dark earlier, and has seemed like its been raining forever. I wanna wash my car, but it would be pointless.

Dkotch22, hey man i live up in Millington which is 10 min east of Frankenmuth. If you don't know where frankenmuth is then i would say it's about 20 min north of flint. I hate it too, everytime i want to wax my car storm clouds are rolling in. And soon it's gonna be snow, and that just kills me.
