  • Question on kicker cvr12"

Hey every one I got 1 cvr12" from my friend with Angled Enclosure and I hooked it up but it don't sound well at all I don't think any thing is wrong with it but any suggestions to make it better? would it sound better by making a hole on Enclosure to make it Ported?

if he had a 2000watt amp (even if the 2000 is peak) on a 400rms sub that is definatly going sound like sh!t, find an amp with like 500 rms.Or if you want that amp to work it would have to be turned to like 1/4 of the way up unless you want to wreck somthing.

Idk for that price all i came up with was a pioneer there >http://walmart.scosche-cars.com/prod...Specifications but you could look on ebay for a nice deal, but before you buy ebay look here to make sure you dont get the crappy knock offs http://www.fullthrottlev6.com/forums...ead.php?t=7402

its all about gains, you can run any amp you want on any sub you want and make it sound good if you tune everything right. right now i have a 2000wrms amp hooked up to my Power Acoustik @ 1 ohm, it slams like a mother and the PA is only rated @ 1000 rms. i just keep the gains turned down to make sure a clean signal is going to the sub and everything is fine. if i wanted too, i could crank the gains and bass boost and fry the sub in minutes though.

You cant talk about quality and Power Acoustic in the same sentence...Power Acoustik is a cheap brand. Like i said up there this sums up good brands http://www.fullthrottlev6.com/forums...ead.php?t=7402

Thats what im saying though, i have a high end Hifonics amp (i believe that list is a bunch of bs putting hifonics in with the others they grouped it with, but anyway) pushing a piece of crap PA sub and everything is fine because i have everything set up right.

What? I don't get it. They recommend that your amp be only 1 foot in length and yours is 3 foot? What's the big deal?:D

naw, that firebird fr3ak was just saying that if you give your sub too much power, it will sound like crap. But in my case, i am giving my sub way too much power and everything sounds great and is holding up.

And that first amp is a PA and is the amp that is made for the MOFO.
