I've heard of bass boost being fake and just a marketing strategy.
But when I turn my bass boost on (i shouldnt) I can actually hear more bass.
Maybe it just lowers the hz?
Does it amplify it?
I want to know more about it thanks

"Bass boost is like having a 30 band eq with everything set flat on the center, then turning up just the one knob centered at a certain freq, usually around 35-45 Hz."
Close. The boost is not exactly one frequency. It's CENTERED at that frequency and gradually rolls off. Creates a small "hump" in the frequency curve. Here's a better pic then that one I had posted.
Heres what the Crossfire*Tm manual says for my Bass Boost:
"BOOST
If your system is lacking low bass response, locate the boost switch next to the crossover. By placing this switch in the
"ON" position, 6dB of boost centered around 45Hz will be added. In the "OFF" position no boost is added to the output
signal. This boost switch is available on specific models only. Please see specification chart for verification. Crossfire
highly recommends using this feature only on amplifiers powering subwoofers."
they act like its best to run Bass Boost ON
