  • CDT Comps fit without modifications?

Well soon I plan on getting some CDT componets, probably for Christmas. These will be replacing my Infinity coaxial 2-ways that are crapping out on me. Anyways, will these fit with little or no modification to the door? I have a Firebird, so the panels are Firebird panels, if that makes any difference. So will the woofer and tweeter both fit in the seperate locations (stock locations) correctly?

Also, since I don't want to start another thread, I'll ask here. I've noticed recently that when I press in on the brake pedal, my lights dim for a second. This happens with my amp both on and off. Do I have a short somewhere, or is this normal? I usually press the clutch it before I press the brake pedal, could this be why? Or is my battery on its last leg?

I think my alternator is going, which could be the reason to the second question. I get a loud whine from it, looks like its time to look into a new one.

So does anyone know anything about installing comps in a Firebird?

The CDTs are a popular choice in the f-bodies. You'll have no worries.

As for the light dimming issue, my bird does it once in a while too. I wondered what could be causing it, but it's been ATLEAST a year since I noticed it and no issues yet.
