This may sound stupid, but can you hook up home theater speakers in a car?

Re: Home theater speakers
Home theater speakers are almost always rated at 8 ohms. Car stereo speakers are at 4 ohms, and in some cases 2 ohms. The higher resistance on the home theater speakers will reduce the volume of the speakers. You would need an extra amp for sure if you plan on adding it to exisisting speakers. If you plan on doing all home theater speakers, it should work out fine, you will just need to crank the volume a bit more to get more sound.
