I bought it the other day for $140 and they told me it was some "custom" since it was that cheap, i figured i'd buy it anyway, but i still have no idea what it is. They didn't even know the impedance of the coils. ANybody have any idea? It's a 10 BTW, people on caraudio thought it was an 8 because i guess i have big hands.

Nice buy.

Use a DMM to find out the impedance of the coils.

Re: New Temp sub. What is it?
what they ask and what they sell for are two different things. and ive never heard of this digital designs company. ive been around this stuff for a while.
for example. i have one 12 that cost right around 600 dollars. i could sell it for about 1/3- maybe 1/2 of that. even it being in perfect shape.
im not trying to be a ****, i just think this guy got taken advantage of.

FYI Their Product Lines are:
0500
1000
2500
3500
9100
9500
9900
9900z
So the sub that I bought "NEW" is a 3500 series. Generally, the 1000 series sells for as much as what I paid. (I said new that way because it is an old model, but wasn't used)
What was this 12 that you paid "around" 600 for?

Re: New Temp sub. What is it?
DD is extremely well known. Be you SPL or SQ type of guy, if you've had car audio as a real hobby (not interest).... you'd know who DD is.
A used sub is worth what the market is willing to pay. As with anything used. Some items hold their worth more then others. Ebay is your friend when trying to ballpark market value. As for this deal....he didn't get ripped or score huge. He just bought a nice sub.:)

Re: New Temp sub. What is it?
the products people are familiar with are very much influenced on their location.
the question is, what do I have... well, i have a half fiberglass half mdf box that is 3.25 cubic feet ported and tuned at 35hz. one 12' sub. a us amps 2000x as well as a 1000x and also, a cerwin vega 4 channel amp. 2 sets of vega components and currently fiberglassing some kick panels to add another set. then throwing out my vega amp, gettin the us amps tube amp. also thinking baout upgrading components to nakamichi. only thing holding me back is then i will have a bastard system. that is what i currently have. i have had many other things in my car. also, i have lying around, my current sub in the 15 inch version. :) waiting til i feel it neccesary.
