Impressions of bazooka

I used to be into real hard hitting bass...The kind that makes it hard to breath in your car. I now just like my bass to compliment my music rather than over power it. I heard mixed reviews about the powered bazooka subs, but I came across a great deal for a 8 inch EL series sub on ebay. I bought it for $35. The EL is actually the less powered of the 2 kinds. Mine is 50 Watts as opposed to the higher end 100 watt ones. The hook up is very simple and straight forward. I mounted it up against the removable trunk cover using a strap. The sound is excellent. It blends really well with the rest of the stereo. I have the normal stereo, not the monsoon one. I listen to a lot of kinds of music...rock, country, metal, hip hop, pop, punk, tecno...The sub sounds nice with it all. For just a 8 inch 50 watt sub it hits very hard when I'm listening to cds with a lot of bass. I'm actually thinking of purchasing maybe one more powered sub and putting a switch on it so I can turn it on and off depending on my bass needs or passenegers taste. Maybe I'll buy a ten inch sub for that purpose. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. Maybe this will help those budget minded folks looking for a simple upgrade to make their stereo come alive. i will add one of my buddies back in high school had one of those triangle 10" subs in the triangle box. it hit hard as a mother. hit a certified 141 on the dash. he had an oldsmobile. that impressed the crap out of me.

Yeah, for the money they're a great sub. A lot of bang for your buck.

oh yeah, i had a friend with an explorer with 4 10's. he had the bazooka amps pushing them, one on each sub. it hit hard as crap too. but they sounds like crap. but i will say they are good if your ballin on a budget or only have space for the tube shaped box.
