No its a really loud sub from Kicker.

If you want noise, its a great sub, but if you want anything that sounds half way near decent even, don't consider it. They require a **** ton of power, and you are going to need some very serious electrical system overhauls to get it to run right, and one big amp. Be prepared to dump a few grand, between amp/sub/box/electrical work and cables I would say at least a good $3000 if you do the work yourself.

i have heard 1 12" solo-x in a maro sounded like crap its just noisy i would take my 10" L7 over it anyday i run 620 max watts vs 2500.

I sounds to grumbly and the rattling was so ****ty in a dynamated maro. it belings in escalades and navigators. not maros!!!

That is really what you would be getting, I just want to make sure you know and acknowledge how much work getting 2500 watts for 1 and 5000 watts of true pure RMS power to those subs would take. You want something that mashes, no doubt this will, but be ready for a very expensive bill, even if you are putting it in yourself.

stay away from the soundstream personal opinion, I have a few friends that have had their amps they always kinda disappointed me, and they just don't put out like Autoteks.

As far as yellow top, at least 1, 250+ amps of alternator, new ground straps, and I would say closer to 5 farad capacitor for the 1 amp. Also be ready to buy 0-gauge power cables, rewire the new alternator.

That I would say would be a good start at making sure that amp runs properly. I would also probably use 8-10 gauge for speaker wires.

                        Re: Solo-x

Power handling capability depends HIGHLY on the box design. I notice from the little drawing you posted, that you're planning to do a vented design. Size after sub and port displacement? Port length (tuning freq)?

I just removed my system from my bird. Two 15" L7's powered by 3kWRMS. I had Dominick from Irragi Alternator's build me my alt. Paid..... (been awhile).... $280 for it??? The key is to get the highest output AT IDLE possible. Make sure you know the idle output. End of story there.... yellow or red under the hood, doesn't matter unless you plan to bump it without the car running. Think red has a higher CCA rating..... anyway, then I used 0awg from the batt to the rear. Check out your local welding shop for that. Much cheaper and still really flexible stuff.

Those upgrades were all I had and did fine under normal listening conditions. It could bump a little.... but as soon as I started lettin it loose, voltage would drop WAYY down. With 2 Optimas, H/O alt and a couple farads of caps, you should have no problems even at high volume slammin!

Oh and I'm putting everything I had in my car up for sale. L7's are already sold. But I still have two like new Autotek XS1600X's if you're interested. Shoot me an email.

I did. Ran two 15" Adire Tumults for awhile. Then realized spending $1200 on just two subs was a little excessive. Figured I could be just as loud with two L7's for less then half the price. Yeah it didn't sound as nice, but I don't really care. I'm getting too old for this.... That's why I'm selling out. Two Autotek XS1600X's , a XS900.4 and one Adire Tumult for sale if anyone is interested. Couple headunits too...

i never got as into it as you but i'm already getting tired of it... i think just one 12 might be the way to go for me.. lol
