  • speakers in my car

so for x-mas my mom said she is gonna spend 100$ on something i want... and well i dont want clothes bc i wont be along long enough to where they matter..

but the fact is.. i need new speakers in my car, i dont know if i should get two really nice ones in the front, or some less expensive ones all around...

my subs seem to of be at the cause of my speakers blowing, so i dont know what kind i should get either..

    any suggestions?

    2 front speakers around 100$
    or
4 speakers all around for 100$

This is just my opinion,... and I know people are gonna disagree with me. I personally would do the front speakers first. I am a die-hard fan of Pioneer and have them in my car. These are a tad bit more than what you are looking for, but they sound unbelievable. I would put these in for now, and replace the other ones on down the road. Plus, I wouldn't buy 4 speakers for $100,... you would be looking at $25 per speaker, and quality might get compromised.

okay maybe they sound good, but you do realize that's 160% of what he said he's spending?

I also would go with two front spekears, pioneer, alpine, kenwood are the brands i would personally look for. You can either upgrade the back ones later on, or live with it. The bose system in the early 4th gen was just 2 mids and a sub, sounds great, you don't really need the back speakers so much anyway, just adds sound.

Ya, 60% more is 160% of the original price, which is what TheGr8Schlotzky said. And ya, I'd do the two front speakers, then move ont o the back if you want. With some decents subs and front speakers, you don't need the other speakers. A good HU helps out too. And, like tmurph01 recommended, I'd find some cheap Pioneers. If they're too expensive, then go with some Kenwood or Panasonic if you need to. Just about anything's better than stock (or nothing if you've blown yours :P). I wouldn't try and get 4 speakers for $100, cuz they're gonna suck big time, and you'll be sorry you got them.

If you can spare $10 i vote for Polk DB675's. I have them all around and they are incredible. Ive had them over 2 years now and they still sound great, and trust me, I abuse them.

The one thing you didnt mention is if you have a monsoon system. If you do that changes everything.

please reconsider your christmas wishlist. if santa is going to get you NICE speakers, they're going to cost a bit more than $100 per pair.

if you were going to go with speakers, then just get the best pair you can find for the front.
go to your local car audio shops and have them demonstrate the speakers - DO NOT BUY FROM THE CAR AUDIO SHOPS!!!!
make a list of the speakers you like and then try to search on ebay or froogle.com for a decent price (which will be much much cheaper than the car audio shop - even with shipping).

You have one choice...Infinity Kappa 6.5"...pick the one that is 2 ohms. They are good speakers but not the cheapest but considering how much time you spend in your car, listening to them they are cheaper than high fidelity speakers you use in the home that can easily run to $ 500 each or more (of course a cabinet is part of that cost" but consider what a new starter, fuel pump, A/C compressor costs and the cost of these speakers is peanuts.

but now i feel like a noob... their is no rear speakers in my car.. just a hole where some are supposed to be... so how hard is it to wire these speakers into that hole?

and does anything know anything about these?
