  • Help with my Christmas

I am getting a system for christmas. I am getting an Alpine CDA-9857. I am trying to decide on with sub i want. I want to go with either a KIcker l7 or a Elemental designs 11Ov2. Which ever one will be in a Stealth box. I need someone to shed some light on am amp. I was thinking about a Hifonics. Somthing around 200. Can anyone help me with my choices. What sub will be better.

i've run jl w0s and a w3. I burnt the coil on the w3 and blew the w0. I was running a big amp but that shouldnt've mattered. I replaced the w3 with an alpine type S and it sounds a lot better than even my w3. Its a really good sub and it will make you're ears bleed. Go with an alpine sub theyre bult to ast and dont cost too much.

Are you looking to pound, or sound nice with some bass?

I can get you the eD 600 watt amp for that and will be matched perfectly to the 11Ov.3/11Ov.3

I don't think I would want a subwoofer that would make your ears bleed. High's should make your ears bleed, low's should make your heart stop beating. :)

If you want something that sounds good with bass, go with a 12-inch JL and 300 watt amp. Not 300 watt peak power either, something that is 300 or above 295 all the time.

If you want something to beat the block down......I would suggest 2 Memphis M-class 12's pushed by a Memphis 1200 watt amp. Same system in a Firebird right now that we just installed a few days ago is hitting 148 SPL and just sounds beautiful. The box is custom to hit low bass very hard though.
