I was wondering how exactly the back speakers of the bose system is wired. They seem to shut off when i unplug the subwoofer, and only put out bass. i was going to rewire them completely but i was wondering if there was an easier way.

Also i was wondering what to use between the speaker and the mounting holes..i mean..is there some kind of speaker "gasket"...something rubber to keep it from shaking? ---I have a bunch of double stick 3M tape on there now and it works ok but not the best..

      Re: Speaker wiring

I've never seen the setup of the Bose stereo system in our cars. If you list the colored wires they have, or even better a picture of the wires I can tell you what wire does what. :)

As for a so-called gasket for a speaker.........I've always went to Wal-mart or somewhere that sells little squares of the egg-crate foam stuff. You know the thing that people sometimes put on their matress to make it softer???

Well, I usually just cut the size of the speaker out and then cut out the center to the size of the speaker so it's just a trim peice that goes between the mounting location and the speaker. That always worked the best. I hear they have some type of foam spray, but I think that could get messy and get on your speakers and make them look like crap.

So all in all, just find something that can deadened movement down on it, something thick, but has the ability to be squished to withstand the pressure.
