Alright i just got a new alpine stereo for christmas from crutchfield and the master sheet says that if i replace the delco radio i must replace all of the other components like the antenna and speakers as well. Do i have to actually do this or is it just a way for them to sucker more people into buying more stuff. I dont have the bose setup just the standard cassete player and 4 speakers if that makes any difference.

I wouldnt see why you would, i never did. But once you remove your factory stereo if you want it back in to return the car to stock you have to take it to a dealership to reprogram the antitheft.

without the bose system, you should be set. If you have the bose system, you don't have to replace the whole system, but you have to get a pretty spendy adapter that makes the headunit output correctly to the system.Comment

3 things you'll probably need...
Antenna adapter to make GM antenna plug fit aftermarket head units
GM wiring harness to splice with harness provided with head unit
DIN adapter face plate
I haven't bought any of these things since the 90's, :) , but your local audio shop, BB or CC should have them all. They were each about $15 when I bought them.Comment

alright ya i installed it today and it works fine without replacing anything else just was basically a huge pain to take off all of those body panels to get to the radio to remove itComment

Wow our radios are like the easiest to take out too.
