  • new audio setup?

Hey, i've got some new audio equipment ready to go in...well most of it and i had some questions about it. Anyway I have a set of infinity 6012i's (60RMS, 180Peak), a set of infinity 6010cs's (the component set w/ tweeters and crossovers 90RMS, 270Peak) and then an infinity 10" sub (250RMS, 1000Peak) that I still need a box and an amp for. The questions I have are:

    1. I obviously need an amp to power the sub, and I would like to have it power the rear speakers too, is this a good idea?

    2. Why kind of amp would you recommend, power wise?

    3. Which set of speakers should go where? The components in the front, or back, etc?

    4. Should bass blockers be used on any of the speakers since I plan on putting in a sub?

    5. Also, is it possible to mount an amp under say the front seat? Or should I surrender my trunk space for one?

I know this is a lot to ask but I'm stereo stupid. Thanks for any help you can throw my way.

1- I wouldn't recommend it, but you can. I'd buy a smaller amp for the rear speakers, and then get a seperate mono amp for the sub.

    2- something that'll do around 250W RMS @ 2Ohms for the sub

3- put the components in the front

4- Don't know. I'd say it wouldn't hurt, if the sub puts out enough bass. I'm not too sure though.

5- u could go under your seat, but it may overheat quickly. I put mine in the back on the drivers side in the little hole opposite the spare tire. Takes up no trunk space there.

Get a small amp for your highs, and get a different amp for your sub.

Don't get a bass blocker, they are a waste of money and they don't work.

And, installing your amp under the seat will only overheat in the hottest of summer days. Unless the amp is cheap and doesn't have any cooling fans inside of it.
