just playing man anyways how much u paid for ill that i need new stereo because every time I turn up bass my stock cd player skips like MOFO.
got the subs on sale for $40 each, and the amp on sale for $150. The HU came with the car, and then I shelled out another $30 for the line level converter or w/e it's called
Oh wow. Not exactly what I pictured...... that sucks. lol:( My first question is, has it always been like this? Or did the subs play fine at first, and now you're having this problem? Looks like the headunit is sending voltage spikes to the amp. Do you hear any buzzing during track changes through your other speakers? VERY first thing I would do is ground the headunit directly to chassis vice using the stock ground wire in the harness. I bet you that fixes it. Keep the run as short as possible and ensure a bare metal to metal connection.

Radracer, sure. We can meet up sometime to troubleshoot if this gets out of control.... but I work a full 40 hour week plus I take 4 classes 4 days a week. I don't even have time to work on my own system. Catch me on AIM and we'll talk about some times.:work:
OK. It plays just fine when the hatch is open. When the hatch is shut though, it'll do that. I'm using the same ground as the locking mechanism for the hatch uses, so I'm guessing my ground is messed up, and when the hatch is closed there's a current running through it or something messing up my amp's ground. So, my question is, where's a good ground in the back of the car on the driver's side?

I used the seatbelt bracket for the rear seats, its right under the side plastic peices...
But im running a 3 ga. ground

That's what is confusing me. I take the other 2 grounds hooked up there off and play it and it does the same thing. It only messes up when the hatch is shut, even if the hatch ground is disconnected. I've sanded it down to bare metal, so it should be a good ground. Like I said though, with the hatch popped and opened, the subs plays just fine, but when it's shut they do that.
OK. It's not my ground. It must have something to do with airspace. When the hatch is open, there's enough room, but when shut, it creates a spring like or something. I dunno, just taking a shot in the dark from my experiences. As you close the hatch, the sound will grow, and you can watch the subs start moving more and more.
