Do I need an amp?
I've got an aftermarket Kenwood HU and a 12" sub in the back. I'm about to replace all four of my speakers inside with Alpine's (most likely just the 250watt ones). My question is do I need an amp to push these? I'm not trying to let everyone down the street know I'm coming, I just want some good, clear sound inside the car, with a little "thump". By the way it DOESN'T have the monsoon set-up. Thanks guys.

You wont need an amp to power the car speakers but you will to power the sub.

Then your fine. Your HU should power the car speakers. If you want your car louder you need an amp to power the car speakers.
