  • radio cut out?

hi everyone, I need some help with this problem. Every once in a while my radio will just turn off, and tonight i realized when this happens, my power windows do not work either. The thing is, if I hit the top of the dashboard, the radio will come back on and everything will work again. Does anyone know what is causeing this or how to fix?

nope its the bcm, i have given up with this, and i ended up putting a switch to my radio accessory power so if it cuts out i just have to turn on the switch (wired to constant 12v power) and it comes back on, windows work too, and you can even listen to the radio and use the windows without your key on

            No, your confused. ^

that is when you shut the car off the radio will stay on until you open the door.

Wiring it to a switch u can turn it on anytime.

And leaving the door shut after you turn off the ignition, that only stays on for an amount of time, like 10 minutes or something.

i spliced into my cigarette lighter and ran that to the switch, then i spliced that into i believe its the red wire going into the radio, switch on, no more problem, switch off, normal operation, and when its cuts out the retained accessory power doesnt work either, so unless you have this problem dont try to explain it

dude, you obviously have absolutely no understanding of what our actual problem is, the switch isnt just so the **** can be on when the car isnt, the problem is that the bcm has something bad in it or a loose connection and it cuts accessory power off and on when you are driving, when its off you cant **** with your windows and your radio doesnt work, so until you get it, dont ****in try to bash anything

So your telling me, you can walk outside right now without your keys, get in and listen to the radio?...

                    If so, somethings NOT normal.

If your having the problem that cep39 is having, then bah is right.. it's a problem with the bcm and instead of a costly repair from the dealership or a huge pain in your @ss, theres an easy fix / rig to bypass that.
