    Re: Satellite Radio

I have XM and love it. I drive a lot. Kansas City to Zanesville OH and back this week. I get tiried of listening to music so I can change to talk radio, sports, what ever. My wife thought it was a waste of money until I activate the one in her truck. It is built in but was never turned on. Now she thinks its great.

Where did you guys mount your antenna? I had mine on the roof, but with no metal up there due to the T-Top, I had ALOT of drop outs. And on the hood looks STUPID!!

I used silicon glue and glued it to the top center of the hatch.

yea that was my mounting material for my roof spot. Maybe the 2009 camaro will actually have a little metal some place high on it. haha

I have XM and I don't like it. I'd like to convert it to Sirius, but I'd have to change the whole HU. Oh well, the next radio will have Sirius capability...

                    Re: Satellite Radio

That is exactly where I had mine at, and I had drop outs. Now Sirius said that it could be the area, since it is near an airport, and they know another area airport has a military band that causes issues in harrisburg. I actually haven't had too much issue with it in the car, so maybe I will do something with it in the car in the back since I don't use the hatch area.

i have mine mounted inside the rear spoiler, with no problems as far as dropouts are concerned....but then i use XM which is about 2 years ahead of sirius in the tech dept....i use this unit, the pioneer inno.....small, portable, full color display, and records 50 hours of programming

                      comparision of the 2 services........
XM-170 plus channels - music-plays the hits, plays more than just the hits, plays unsigned bands,
news-major news networks, entertainment & talk - Opie & Anthony, Ron & Fez, Dale Earnheart Jr & Jimmy Johnson, Oprah, sports-Hockey, MLB, ACC, Pac 10, PGA, Indycar, traffic & weather- 21 metropolitan areas....state of the art tech, performs better in the stock market.

Sirius - 120 plus channels - music - plays the hits you hear on Free FM, news - major news networks, entertainment & talk - Howard Stern, Martha Steward, sports - NFL, NBA, Nascar, college, traffic & weather - 11 metropolitan areas......2 years behind on tech, performs poorly in the stock market

My major selling point was Nascar switched over to Sirius for 2007. I was planning to purchase XM until I heard that.

XM maintained the nascar talk shows that they created with dale jr and jimmie johnson,,,all sirius got was the right to broadcast the races and i believe they will be doing a talk show with Tony Steward, but then the races will still be covered on xm thanks to espn radio,,,,,you cant blame nascar though,, sirius has always been willing to just hemmorage cash to pull in programming, i.e. howard stern--500 million dollars, holy "s" what a waste of cash, nascar got around 20 million more with the move to sirius

                            Re: Satellite Radio

I had Sirius for a year, and then switched to XM because of the drop outs. I liked XM for the first year that I had it, and then the 2 major channels I listened to start playing commercials for stuff... even though it was only one commercial every 30 min. or so, it was still commercials!!! I don't pay for something I can get for free. So I switched back to Sirius... I like their dance/electronica channels better anyways.
