  • Two amp hook up?

Ok I searched and didn't find and answer so here go's. I have an amp already wired for my subs but now I want an amp to power my speakers too. Will I have to run a second power line from the batter or can I just use the existing power wire?

You can buy a power block. You put the power wire into it, and then you can hook 2 (or more, depending on which one you get) amps upto that. And some amps have RCA runthroughs (my RF does), so you don't have to run another set of RCAs from the HU, it comes out of the other amp.

You will need to know how many amps you are drawing now, how many amps the second will draw and what size wire are you using. As long as your current power line can handle the total load plus 20% you are good. Make sure you use MAX amp draw.

i had a 2000 watt amp and a 500 watt amp in my old car, and I simply cut back the rubber coating on my 2 gauge wire, inserted a 10 gauge for the 500 watt and put a **** load of tape over it (all that after my capacitor) Kinda ghetto but got the job done w/ no incident

You can but a splitter but I couldn't find one that could hold the 2000 watt amp
