Re: Stereo Keeps Shutting Off!
No someone else will need to chime in since I have not removed the stereo, yet. Only past experience from other vehicles. usually it is right behind the head unit but not 100% on camaros.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

Re: Stereo Keeps Shutting Off!
Check your fuse make sure its big enough to support the radio, make sure all your connections are good, and of course go ahead and just re-ground the radio, I never use factory ground wires in the harness, its much better and a stronger to just ground your own wire.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate

Re: Stereo Keeps Shutting Off!
if you did a simple search its been discussed a few times, its somewhere in the bcm, easiest fix i have found so far is to connect the accessory power into your stereo (the red one i believe) to a 12V source with a switch) then if you are having problems then you can flip the switch and problems no more, switch off, normal operation

Re: Stereo Keeps Shutting Off!
so, is this a stock stereo or aftermarket?

Re: Stereo Keeps Shutting Off!
Just like bah said, it's the Body Control Module. Theres a relay in there that is going bad and it cannot be easily replaced. If you ignore it, it will only keep getting worse.
To replace the BCM it is going to cost you a couple of hundred $$ and then you have to take it to the dealership to have them reprogram it for your specific car (and that's more $$$)
Cheapest option is to wire up a bypass power supply. Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)

Re: Stereo Keeps Shutting Off!
Oh yeah, and when the radio dies like that, the power windows won't work because they share the same power feed that runs from the BCM to the fuse box.Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)
