Ok, this is kind of hard to explain but I'll try my best. My last car (1995 3.4 Firebird) had a red button on the lower left side of my driver's side. It was right under the trunk button. Well, i never knew what it did but one day the light was blinking (i had left the window open, and the car was locked and instead of using the keyless, i reached my hand in and unlocked it) this was right before i noticed the red light blinking. Well, examining the light, i noticed a small button, I pressed it and held it and the light turned to solid. I know the cars come with a security system that disables the starter and while the light was blinking, the car wouldnt start but once i pressed that button and it turned solid the car started fine. Well, now I have a 2000 Firebird and there is no red button. The key i was given by the dealer seems to be faulty because sometimes the 'security' light comes on and it does not start. I was wondering, is that red light aftermarket, like someone put that there to override the security system, or is that something thats stock?
