Re: Best Speakers
Good question....
Are you looking for simply the best sounding, most pure, smoothest, best highs, best mids, best bass, loudest?
Any real price range here to work in... It's rough because you can say the best could be Alpine $100-$250ish, and that may be true for a department store line
*Best Buy*.. But then you can say small shop, JL, Diamond audio $300-$600, few others, or we can shoot all the way up to Focal Utopia which run $2000 a set and there are others over that.
So having a little more knowledge into what you like would prompt a much better guess into what exactly you are looking for.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate

Re: Best Speakers
I will also recomend edesignaudio.com. Elemental designs just offers great products and don't cost an arm and a leg. Other recomendations would be CDT, Focal, and Rainbow. I'm really more into audio for sound quality so take my suggestions as such. Store bought brands tend to fall short, the only brand I really like that you will be able to find in most stores is JL. Also just an FYI listening to speakers in a store environment is almost useless. Most drivers will sound very similar with minor differences in the store but will have extremely different characteristics when installed in a car, at least that has been my experience.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Re: Best Speakers
Sound Quality
Infinity Kappa's or Diamond audio (i've owned both they sound great)
Boom Boom
Fosgates or kicker (haven't owned em myself but my buddy owns a set of both and they "Boom" alot more but thats what a subs for so i prefer the sound quality in my speakers)
The kappa's and diamond audio's are a little bit pricey if u want to get some a little cheaper Polk makes some nices speakers and Infinity references still sound pretty good as well.

great advice. i would run CDT or Focal if i could justify spending that kind of cash for speakers in a convertible.

Re: Best Speakers
Well. I have a 93 Camaro and as of right now, there is absolutely no audio in it. I bought it from my cousin and his radio got stolen, and i didnt want his Dual speakers so i took them out.
As for what im looking for... I want a good quality sound, a little on the bass side. I tend to turn my music up loud, and it really sucks when i do and i can barely hear the music, or it rattles. And for my price range. Im not too big of a fan of spending a lot of money since i dont have it but if its really worth it, and under around $600 for 4 of them i should be able to get some money for them.

Re: Best Speakers
So are you looking for just speakers then, no sub? If so or if not I think I can help keep you within your goal. To be honest there is no real need to do any speakers other than your fronts and set up the sound stage then just run at least one 10 or two 6.5" subs. To stay within your price range for either one (depending on what you decide) I would recomend going to www.edesignaudio.com and click on the package builder. Using this function you can save a good deal if you buy everything from them. You can either go with an 11Kv2 dual 2ohm sub, A NINe.4 amp, and a pair of the EDi 6500's for your front components or you could substitute 2 7kv2 dual 4ohm subs for the 11kv2 and mount them in the sail panels (some minor rear clearance will be needed or a spacer ring to get these to fit here). The pair of 7kv2's wont be quite as loud but will hit just as low and clean as the 11kv2. Only thing left out is a head unit which I was Unsure if you had or not. If not you can sub a SQ10 from ED instead to save a few bucks (still a great sub and better than most but I'd go for the 11kv2 if possible and try to get a stealth box from sub thump)2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Re: Best Speakers
Take a look at ED, they make some pretty nice stuff for not too bad of a price. Also in your price range, consider alpine type R, polk db, infinity kappa, might even be worth it to maybe look at a cheaper set of mb quarts, you are going to need something with screaming mids and highs if you like volume, and of course the midbass fill.
Personal opinion-
Stay away from Kicker, Rockford, and a few others, since they got big names and lots of recognition in competitions their quality has started to suffer greatly.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate

Re: Best Speakers
i dont have a head unit, i was planning on getting a flip-out touchscreen, or just a regular flip out screen. i also wanted to put some subs in there. (i love subs)
that was in my taurus wagon, i later put 2 more amps and two 12's in, a total of 4 subs 3 amps. it was pretty loud.
the only thing bad about them was that they were xplodes, and they were cheap.
so yea, i like all these suggestions. keep it up. thanks.
