  • Pics of the stealth install..

I refinished the box for a round sub, it was cut for an L7.. and added another set of terminals for the Dual voice coil setup i'm going to run. I don't have the amp yet, should be here tuesday, but i just finished the install on the sub.

    It's an Elemental Designs 11kv.2

Yeah, the carpet doesn't match. I looked around and this is the closest color I could find. It doesn't look that bad..

I'm pretty proud of it, because i had to remake the whole face of it. tore the old face off and made a new one from scratch. Fits perfect, only thing is the carpet isn't quite dark enough, but i still like it :)

It's about .6 cu ft. so yeah, it's small, but the 11kv.2 sub i used in there is designed specifically for that amount of airspace, so it's perfect, and anyway, i'm glad i don't loose my already tiny trunk.

              _-_-_-_

Now, where should i mount my amp?
-I was thinking I would re-enforce the flap and mount the amp on the underside so that it's not intruding my trunk, and not easily visible by being just right there on the carpet up top. I will get my hatch tinted 20% any day now, sooner if i mount the amp there, but what do you suggest?

i'd put in in the 'trunk'

you cant put it inside that box thing? You could put it in the spare tire compartment

If you want you can buy an amp rack from subthump. It mounts to the back wall of the trunk.

I'm done spending money on this sub. I just want to mount it somewhere that isn't horrible for cooling and not incredibly obvious incase someone wants it. I might just tint the hatch an put it on the big flat carpet spot though.

I have my trunk full with my subs and in the flat spot you were talking about I put my amp rack, I need to get my window tinted though. I like that location

no, but i would like to avoid putting it the bottom of the trunk where the brackets would be if that's what your talking about..

That box looks great. Did you build it from scratch? I am throwing around the idea of building my own. If you did build it, can you get some more pics from different angles, and explain how difficult it was to build?

I didn't build the whole thing from scratch, i just rebuilt the face of it and carpeted it. The actual box was originally from subthump, but was cut for an L7. Here is a link to a few pics on someone who made a stealth box completely from scratch though..
