Where can I get a good audio system? Circuit City? Best Buy? Shop?

You can get one from anywhere. Don't even have to go anywhere, buy it online. I wouldn't suggest Best Buy/CiruitCity/Wal-Mart/etc etc unless, you're a COMPLETE newb. And, it kinda seems like like from this post. Just search online, see what your local shops have, compare prices, read reviews and compile your own system. There's this thing called the Search Function that you can use to see what others have and their issues. I personally Have 2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1's in a custom enclosure (still haven't completely sealed it. may go do that right now), running off a Rockford Fosgate Punch 325.1 Amp. You're gonna get a few posts saying SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH, and they couldn't be more right. You could get a nice sounding system from anywhere, but it all depends on how much you want to spends, what you're looking for, what you have, what you want, etc etc etc

I usually get my stuff from American (TV), all Alpine. A bit pricey, but worth it. Consider the following:

1-how much you want to spend

2-how many amplifiers

3-replace all speakers if using amps

4-subs

5-who will install (kinda fun to do it yourself, imo)

6-or just get a decent HU, and maybe replace speakers as they blow. Many HU's sound sweet by themselves - no amps needed (depends how loud you want to go)

Id say get alot of your stuff from ebay, ive ordered stuff for a few of my friends cars and never had an issue.. Definatley cheaper than in store prices.

E-Bay will kill you on shipping (mostly on subs/enclosure).
Look around. Like said above;
How much are you willing to spend?
What components do you want (Deck, Speakers, Subs)?
How good of quality are you looking for?

If you can find good shipping prices on ebay, go for it. If not, I would lean towards online sites, I have used http://www.crutchfield.com/ before, they have some pretty good prices.

Got my head unit from Crutchfield, sub box on ebay (used Subthump stealth box), and sub and amp direct from Elemental Designs. I bought the car used, but the previous owner had already installed Polk speakers in the stock locations.

sweet man. I can't wait till this weekend, cuz I finally get to finish up my box and hear my RF Punch Stage1's at their max. Now I just need a good HU, thinking of blaupnkt, but am gonna see if I can find a good RF.

Well, I've already got the subs and amp installed. They're easy to put in and out, so I don't really mind taking them out to tweak them abit. But my box (one I made) isn't completely sealed. I wrapped it in carpet, and thought the pressure from the lid, and the 2 layers of carpet squeezed in would be good enough to seal it, but it's not. I feel air coming out, so I'm trying to figure out a way to seal it around there, but still be able to remove the lid in case I need to do any kind of work. I'm running 2 12" RF Punch Stage 1's powered by a RF Punch 325.1. It's rated 415W RMS, like 700W Max. My subs are rated 150W RMS, and 300W Max, so I thought they fit together nicely. Right now, it sounds pretty good, but I'm hoping once I get it completely sealed it'll sound better. I also need a new HU, cuz my crappy JVC is, well, crappy :P So I'm trying to save up for that, along with other crap, so no long how long it'll take me to get it.
