Don't think it's a big deal, but just incase something is up, I've noticed that since i installed my amp in my car, every time i get out of my car, when i go to close the door, i get a little shock when i touch the door.
just though i'd ask if it's something to worry about or just whatever..

I have this problem on my beater. I deliver newspapers so I get about 200 shocks per morning each time i get out of the car. I have an aftermarket stereo but nothing else. I've also noticed that the radio seems to flicker as I'm getting each shock. I always thought it was static build-up, especially since the problem is much worse when the air is dry and hardly happens when its humid out.
I installed one on my Honda, but put it right near the rear wheels directly under the car, not the rear bumper. I attached it to the frame and it drags on the ground. I don't get zapped anymore
my car shocks me as well, and I don't have extensive stereo modifications, just replaced the head unit and speakers, that's it. Make sure you've got everything grounded ok, there are plenty of places where you can ground to the frame.....

I second that. I picked some up when I was down in Argentina (I didn't realize they sold them here). Not perfect solution, but they help. I think much of the static comes from the voltage potential between the driver and the car though.
I'm not so sure I would want to be inside the car when the gas attendant ignites my fuel tank.

lol yeah...
Well it hasn't been doing it for a couple days now so it might have been the cold weather as i think was mentioned in this thread. It's a bit warmer now and it hasn't done it. So I think I won't worry about it at least for now.
