  • Subs Problem

Starting Friday night, I noticed my subs would randomly stop working. They would all of a sudden stop, then randomly come back. For the most part they would stay on and cut out once in a while. Over the past couple days it has gotten worse and now it's the other way around. They stay off and randomly come on only for a couple seconds here and there. I just took out the headunit to make sure the wires were completely in, and also checked to make sure the wires were completely in on both sides of my box. When I was checking, the subs didn't come on once. It appears they have stopped working all together now.

Any suggestions on anything else I can check? I didn't put the subs in, I had ABC Warehouse install them a year ago. Anyone maybe have an idea of what's going wrong?

If needed I just have two P1 Rockford Punches (400watts each) and a Kenwood 800watt amp. Both were a year or two old when I bought them used from a guy. I've never had one problem up until Friday.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Re: Subs Problem

Hey, I've got the P1's too. They're rated at 300W, not 400W, just to let ya know. Anyways, sounds to me like you have a bad connection somewhere. I had the same problem a few days ago, and it turned out to be my Turn-On wire was loose. Tightened it up and works like a charm. I'd say double check all your wires. Pull the subs out and make sure the wire's are still hooked on them too. What HU do you have? Also, check your fuse, you may have a bad one that kinda eventually died on ya.

Alright, I'll make sure I check all that stuff. And what is HU?

      Thanks for the help!

Thanks for all the help guys...I'll just have to check everything this weekend. At least it sounds like it's just a loose connection somewhere so I won't be spending any more $$$
