if i buy a new cd player can i still use the steering wheel controls on my 02 camaro???

Yes you can. Look up the PAC SWI-X. It's a little box that costs around $60. It works with most head units. On your Camaro, it's a one wire hookup. Then you just mount the LED and program the PAC. Programming is as easy as press a button on your wheel, then pressing what you want to assign to the button on your remote. Essentially, you can make your wheel controls do whatever you want. I love mine.
Currently these radios are NOT compatible with the SWI-X: Sony XAV-7W, CDX-MP80, CDX-MP70, CDX-M850MP, CDX-M3DI, CDX-M800, CDX-CA900X, MEX-5D1, MEX-1HD, CDX-M730, CDX-M770, CDX-M620, CDX-M670, CDX-CA850X and CDX-CA860X; Delphi XM SKYFI.
