  • Horrible Window motor and accessory problem!

Does anyone know how the window wiring harness & window motor works?

While installing a set of component tweeters, I must have disturbed something or something is now out of place. When I put the interior and doors back together, the windows won't go up now.

Interestingly enough, when the headlights are ON - nothing works. BUT when the headlights are OFF, the power door locks and mirrors work fine but NOT THE WINDOWS! When the window switches are pressed, the vanity lights which illuminate the lock switch/window control/door handle panel come on BUT ONLY when the window switches are pressed with the headlights off.

ANY suggestions or comments really appreciated & thanks in advance.

Sounds like you may have crimped/pinched some wires when you were workin on the door. I will look up the digram in mys gm service manuals and get back to you...

ACTUALLY... funny you would say that. I got my wire runner caught in the door and had to fumble around in the door gromet with a small wire that got caught. But I thought it was ok I felt and made sure it wasent broken. Im going to have to look in that area more I guess.

Thanks for looking. Tell me what you find out in your manual.
