  • Shorter antenna for better FM recept?

I was reading some things just to prepare for an upcoming install I'm doing on my car and I cam across something that said long antennas pick up lower frequencies (AM) better, while shorter ones will pick up higher frequencies better like FM

Is this true? anyone have any comments? if this is true I'm gonna go get a short antenna right away

I've got a shorty antenna thats about 8" long and it seems about the same as stock, no worse no better, besides I never listen to AM so I wouldn't know if the longer one works better for AM over FM, but it sure looks alot better than the stock 12 footer!

I've got a 1 1/2 or 2 footer billet antenna, and it picks up FM just fine
