K so i keep hearing these subs are one of the better ones for camaros cuz of their size. Is it true or is subthumper.com just feeding me a line. If they are so good how come u cant get them on ebay??? If they are that good would just one 10 inch in a stealth box be plenty loud?? Also I dont know much about subs and systems so would I want 2 ohm or 4 ohm sub cuz i really dont know. Also any suggestions on good amps to power it...im not talking anything really expensive either.

Elemental designs equipment is top notch. I can't tell if 1 ten would be enough or not. As for what ohm voice coils to go with that would depend on the amp but neither option is better or worse. I like elemental designs amps as well but I'd need a price range before I can give any more advice.

Okay well what amp would go well with this sub, i dont even know how big of amp i need...my friend has a 750 watt amp not sure what brand but i dont know if that would be a good enough amp or not. Price range probably around $50-$150, i mean the sub is only $100 so hopefully the amp wouldnt cost more

The amp should always cost a good amount more than the sub if you want decent quality. a 150 dollar amp will tend to fall into the sucky catagory and I can't think of anything that would fit that budget and really make it worth your time to buy the 11kv2. For that sub a decent amp from ED would be the NINe.2 which costs $220. It would put out 400Wrms when bridged which falls nicely into the 300-600Wrms range of the 11kv2. For that amp you would want the dual 2 ohm version of the 11kv2 and wire the voice coils in series to make the final ohm rating 4 ohms which would allow the amp to run in bridged mode. Odds are your friends amp doesn't really put out the 750W it claims, amps that put out that much are actually pretty expensive. On average it will cost about 5-600 bucks for a head unit, amp, and sub if you want it to be decent. If you need any wireing info just ask and I'll post up the relevent pics or info.

Having this sub in my car, i can tell you that it puts out plenty enough sound for just about any music. even when i'm only pushing about 200W to it from my kicker amp, i can feel the bass quite a bit when i want and the sound quality is amazing. I'll eventually upgrade the amp, but i think this sub is staying for a long time. I also bought it when the forum discount was still active so i paid about $60 shipped for the 11kv.2 :)

Yeah tpunk if youd like could u post some pics and info for me...im thinking of getting the sub this week and then looking into amps...im a total beginner when it comes to systems. My headunit I know is really good its like year and half old but i paid 400 for it so it should still be good. So you think that amp is my best bet or is there any others that would work well with it

There are several others that will work fine with that sub but I really like ED's product line (other than their sound deadening stuff) and for that price it would be hard to beat. I'll find some wiring pics for ya and post them up asap.

Actually ED has a good reference.

Umm I doubt the amp you are talking about would be well suited for the 11kv2 unless that was the price of the amp used. Was it a 250W peak or RMS rating and was that 250x2 or 125x2? Just trying to get all the info for him before he goes and buys the wrong amp for the job. And yeah, I totally agree that you need to stay far away from sony X-plod equipment. It's sad sony use to make nice equipment back in the day :(

                    Re: Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 Subwoofer

I'm currently running a 11Kv.2 and nine.2 setup in a Subthump box. It sounds good and gets loud. I think if I was to do it again, I would spend a little more and go with the 11Ov.2 and nine.2x setup instead for a little more sound. I would only do the upgrade because I've always had more than one sub in all of my previous setups.

I need to tell you that a 200 watt amp. is only 3db louder than a 100 watt amp.
3db is what is known as a "just noticeble difference"
