i just bought a 95 maro and it has a brand new JVC head unit in it. there's a hole where a speaker should be under the hatch on the driver's side. i dunno wut is originally supposed to be there. and all i hear out of the speakers by the backseats is bass. the passenger side door speaker works perfectly well, but the driver's side door speaker puts out no sound. no buzz of a blown speaker or anything. i think the wiring runnin to the speakers is just shorted out. wuts the cheapest way i can remedy this? i really wanna get this thing right to enjoy this summer
i have a jvc head too, if i remember right the speakers in the back are sposed to be bass, i think they called them mids or some ****, are they all stock?
You got bose, yo.
The speaker in the hatch is your subwoofer..if it's gone, you can buy my bose subwoofer to stick in there, otherwise buy a nicer sub setup and be happier. The front door speaker..first check if it's there..second check the connections on the back of the headunit, and then the connections to the speaker.
the backseat speakers only putting out bass..bose systems do that for some reason when an aftermarket amp is hooked up. I went ahead and bought a four channel amp to power the rear speakers and make them full range, and the other two to bridge to a sub.
another way is to just run wires from the headunit to the speakers..the stock wiring just doesn't seem to work.

not sure of the orientation and staging on the monsoon system, but the older cars (pre 97) had bose systems, so your car being 02 wouldn't apply to this..you have two hatch speakers whereas bose is just one sub in the back left.
I'd say certain aspects of each are better. The people that buy the premium stereos are normally the ones that actually know what a good stereo sounds like, and neither the bose or monsoon live up to those expectations. I'm personally perfectly happy with my powered bose door speakers, but the rest of the system was absolute crap. with my amp powering my pioneer sail panel speakers and elemental designs subwoofer, and dynamat, my stereo sounds quite good, and i'm happy with the bose door speakers as stock speakers.
as for monsoon, i've never heard a monsoon system cranked, so i couldn't tell you the pros and cons of it, but they do seem to blow out a lot easier.
yea one of the speaker grilles says bose on it. theyre all stock and theyre all there. i have an inclination to believe that the drivers side speaker doesnt really NEED replacing yet since the one working sounds really good. just gotta get the other one workin. for now im keepin the radio off to avoid stressin the one. anyone know of a good cheap speaker if i do decide to replace?
so your subwoofer is there? but not working at all?
When i had an aftermarket headunit and stock speakers my sub was putting out full range and i had to install a subwoofer crossover.
as for cheap speakers, the best deals you'll probably find are on boards like these. If you really put some time into it you can join car audio boards and check the fs sections of those..i've found some screaming deals on icixsound.com..plus being a member gets you discounts on some of elemental designs stuff.
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
