Well if you bought the stock speakers to replace them its just a matter of getting the door panel off and taking the old speaker out and putting the new in.

Heres a site that shows taking of a firebird door panel off. Hope this helps.

Sorta helps, its got pic's of Camaro. My bird is different. But i think i get the idea of how to take the panel off, 4 screws on mine i think. But need more of how to install the new speakers. I got Sony Xplod 4 way 6 1/2" speakers. those will work right?

should work. Once you get the door panel off, the speaker's just sitting there, held in by 4 screws. Unscrew them, take it out, cut the harness and wire up your new speakers. Screw them back in, and put the panel back on and all together.

aye i dunno, F it. I took all the screws out, nothing budged, im not risking breaking anything for stupid speakers, ill need specific step by step for the speakers on monsoon system for 99+ firebird.

Regular speakers aren't going to work straight out on a Monsoon system. You see, there are two audio sources coming to your factory speaker: a low pass signal to the woofer and and high pass signal to your tweeter. You'll note, the factory plug has 4 wires.

Unless you are running a component after market speaker, where you can punch into the high and low side of the factory Monsoon amp, you will not get the full range of sound.

              sooooooooooo gay.

leave it to GM for making things f'n complicated. Nothing aftermarket ever fits easily into GM cars.. So stupid.

So your saying the stock monsoons have 4 wires in the back and the aftermarket have 2?

if those speakers are anything like the rest of the xplod line, it wouldn't be worth the upgrade anyway. Really the only way to upgrade the speakers is to completely redo it with a new headunit and just rewire it all eliminating the monsoon amps altogether.

Yes, the factory woofers and tweeters in the monsoon system receive their own signal from the amp.

I have an after market radio, but still use the Monsoon amp. What I did was get a pair of Cerwin Vega 6.5" components. I then wired each speaker to the appropriate factory high and low pass output. I took a small piece of ABS plastic and hot glued a strip across the front of the woofer to mount the tweeter. This allowed me to angle the tweeter up and in. The sound quality is excellent.
