Kinda.... Ohms really have nothing to do with power. Ohms are the resitance value of the electricty passing through the speaker. Yes the power deliverd to the speaker changes with different ohm loads but thats like comparing apples to oranges. and you can't just go buy different ohm speakers and throw them in and expect it to work. Many amps are produced to handle a certain ohm load. Now going from 4 to 8 ohm is more stable then going from 4 to 2 ohm. so its usually safer to go higher ohms then lower but you don't know how the speakers are wired in.
Plus the orignals must have been Dual Voice Coil if the old speakers had 2 sets of wires running to the speaker. which is a huge difference.
1 2ohm Dual voice coil speaker can produce either a 1ohm load or a 4 ohm load and then if both the rear speakers are wired together the amplifier load could be 2ohms or 8ohms
The way u wired it in could be producing any where from a 2ohm to a 16ohm load which makes a HUGE Difference and the amp may reduce power to those speakers causing your poor performance. Amps are usually designed to run at a desired ohm ratio anything different risks damaging the amp so fail safes are usually added to prevent that from happening. (could be fastblow fuses or something tthat reduces power output) hope that helps i did a little searching on the interent for you and i found this

""people have tried to use aftermarket speakers with their monsoon system, and most of them always sound muffled or too quiet.
thats because most aftermarket speakers are 4ohms, not 2ohms like the monsoon system."""
i have no idea what the wiring diargram is but if you can get me a schematic of the wires for the monsoon system with the ohms loads.
I"ll help you figure out how to wire them in

BUT a speaker with 4ohm/4ohm can produce a 2ohm load (wired in paralell between the voice coils) your speakers that you bought can't produce a 2 ohm load per speaker. but if u get me the schematic i can tell you how to rewire the new speakers to produce the same load to the amplifier as the originals did.

I would have no idea where to find a shematic of it.

That's what I was getting at sorta lol. I took a small course on them. The more resistance you have, the smaller the load being pushed, witht he same amount of work. I'm not too good with audio, but you can do many things to redirect these problems. Like I always say, you can't destroy or create more energy, only divert it :)

            Re: Speaker replacement??

As said, your main problem is that your speakers are providing a 4ohm final impedance, while the stockers were providing 2ohm final resistance.

            Easiest solution, ditch the Monsoon.
