OML!!! ok, so i was drivin maybe a couple weeks ago and my passenger side door speaker cuts out, and then starts to squeal. a slight tap on the door panel and the speaker came back, then cut out again. once i got home, i removed the door panel, and took out the bose speaker and crossover/amp assembly and began jiggling wires. i popped off the top of the bose box to reveal the board, w/ a plug routing into and back out of the box to the speaker. i cut the radio on and began to apply pressure on the plug and the signal would go and come according to how much pressure i applied on the plug. i took out the board and noticed the solder for the receptical posts had cracked and there wasnt a good connection...i resoldered the receptical posts from the plug onto the board, and it kept cutting in and out...so i disected the plug, and soldered each and every wire to the connector that contacts the receptical posts...still cutting out...i got so tired of it i went out at about 10 tonight, tore the door down, took out the assembly and began playing around w/ the wires. i cut the plug off, and found the speaker wires in an attempt to straight wire the speaker, but it was a whisper compared to the other speakers, so you HAVE to have this bose assembly for the speaker to function properly w/o the presence of an aftermarket amp...and mine is being stupid...not cool...i checked for shorts in the wires and double checked my soldering...its just being stupid, maybe theres a problem elsewhere in the board, but i cant find it. i discovered steady tension on the plug kept the signal present, so i wrapped the wires around the board tightly, and ran a buttload of duct tape around it, and it seems to be holding. it doesnt cut out whenever i close the door, so thats good...anybody else had problems w/ their bose system, and how did you fix them??

Look, the newest Camaro is soon to be six years old. Things have a limited life from AC units to tires to shocks to radios. The $129 Car stereo you see in Cercuit City (made in China) won't last you 3 years. So, buy a new one and buy an "extended warranty" at BestBuy or Circuit as you will need it.

when you have to tie wires and duct tape around a crossover unit, id say its time for a replacement part. Just search around LS1Tech or Ebay and find a used door speaker set for the Bose system, its your best and cheapest bet

welp, i finally wound up bypassin the crossovers, just found the hot and ground and went straight to the speaker, but when i heard the speakers full-range for the first time, i found out that the speakers were completely shot...no rubber left around the edges at all...perfect excuse for Pioneers now :D
