Hey guys, been reading through a lot of posts and they have helped immensly with my 94 3.4L camaro.
Was trying to find some information on this cars alternator but i can't seem to find any. I have allready had to replace it 3 times in the past year. What happens is i get the new alternator it starts working fine and works fine for the first couple of days. Then slowly but surely the voltage meter starts going down. After a few weeks, maybe a month or two if im lucky its down to about 7-9 volts and thats when it just dies.
Now ive taken it to electromechanics and everything and they always do some little "fix it" that doesnt really solve my problem. So i was wondering. Do these 3.4L need a bigger alternator than the stock one? right now i dont have any aftermarket Performance mods, and the only electrical that has been added/removed is a different radio and speakers and the security chip from steering wheel and key where removed.
Please any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. If i do have to get a new alternator is there any links you could provide of where to find a good replacement alternator? Parts here in Puerto Rico are crazy expensive.
Thanks in advance everyone.
