  • Gauges and Radio do not work? What to do?

OK so I took out the head unit in my 1999 firebird to reinstall the stocker while I wait for my new alpine to arrive. I forgot to disconnect the battery before I unplugged everything. Put the stock stuff back in, and none of the lights on my gauge cluster light up (SES, seatbelts, etc). Also the mph, tach, and fuel gauges don't work. Of course mileage doesn't show up either. And the stock radio doesn't work either. I checked/replaced all the fuses by the door but no dice. Weird enough the blinker lights on the cluster still work fine. How should I begin diagnosing this? And could the radio and gauge problems be related?

      :twak:

Theres also a fusebox under the hood, although I dont believe there are any fuses for the dash and radio under there, you can check.

Try removing the factory headunit and putting the stocker back in to see if your problem goes away, It could be a short in the radio, or a similar problem.

You didnt see or smell any smoke when hooking it up did you?
