So my stereo wrks most of the time but when i shut it off after driving it and turn it back on it doesnt go on. It is an aftermarket radio/cd player and in turn when that shuts off my windows dont work but everything else is fine.

Can anyone help explain this problem?

    Re: Electrical Problem

The power is supplied by the Body Control Module (BCM) which controls for RAP (retained accessory power). That is, when you shut off your car, the radio will continue playing until you open a door.

To fix, you either have to replace the BCM or provide power to your radio/windows from somewhere else.

        Re: Electrical Problem

I think a new BCM in the US costs about 150 bucks. And then you have to take it to a GM dealership to have it programed for your key code (VATS) which is probably anouther $75 or so.

From where I'm from thats seriously a good deal. Here in Canada the GM Dealership wants $437 for the BCM and $150 to program!! So you can see why I bypassed my BCM.
