Stage 2 kit raises voltage in some cars to over 15 volts. Many aftermarket amps and radios such as Sony/Rockford will not operate at this voltage. OEM electronics will not always function correctly. No damage will occur but we recommend the stage 2 kit for race applications only.

hmmm...what are the benefits of this mod? I understand it is making it so the alternator is more efficient in the ways it charges the battery, but honestly, how much benefits could that really 'free' up?

I wouldn't really look at it as a horsepower mod, i am gonna oreder one to help with the power drain from my stereo. and to make my headlights a little brighter.

that's what i thought as well, but they said stage II is not recommended w/ stereos so i didnt know what the purpose was.

                    Re: Alternator Voltage Booster

I'm looking at this also, .6 volts doesn't seem alot for the stage 1, I run alot of acessories. 2 amps(PPI 2300am, PPI 2400M, 3 gauges, nitrous switches, digtal window switch , activating switch and bottle warmer. So the stage 1 would be fine or could I try the stage 2? People who have this please post up I would like to know.BTW I already have the Alt rewire done to 4 GA. Thanks Steve

With all that stuff it would be more of a matter of amperage than voltage that i would be worried about.

I think the Stage 2 is probobly intended for a fully upgraded ignition system I.E. MSD-Dis 4 Ignition, MSD Packs and so on.

i want to get one of these (along with a rewire kit) but it says next to the product application (96-2004) so does that mean it will not work on my 93 3.4? here's the link again

Call them. Remember that site is for the Grand Prix with a 3.8. They really don't support the F-body directly
