  • Steering Controls LED's

    Hi
Can anyone tell me if my 98 Firebird should have LED's on the radio steering wheel controls? If so mine have never worked etc and I need to know how to fix the problem. I had a look at the sticky with the links to LS1.com etc but the picture links don't work anymore.

    Any help appreciated

    Vic

checked fuses and all OK. Still no LED's lighting up.
As I said before they have never worked while I have had the car. I changed the clock spring a few months ago which fixed the airbag warning light and I got the steering wheel radio buttons working but not the LED's on the buttons.

I will check the wiring behind the fuses for obvious faults this weekend. In the meantime anyone have any other ideas?

        Thanks Vic

          Quick update,

Found a mention via google that the switches have filament bulbs and not LED's.
Anyone know if this is true and can these be changed or us it another $100+ fix

          Thanks

look on e-bay .. you can get a set of new switches for 100.00 . mine have never worked either but i am not trying to spend 100.00 on the problem . i would be interested in some info on how to swap them to leds if anyone would be kind enough to school us on the subject.
